About Us

Welcome

It is a privilege and a joy to be part of Bardwell School and I have great pride in welcoming you to our school. Our students are at the core of everything we do, and our child-centred approach gives them the opportunities to learn, develop and realise their full potential. Our talented and dedicated staff support our students along their learning journey to ensure that they realise their strengths and take them forward in their life ahead. Our aim is that all children will leave Bardwell as rounded individuals who are valued members of their own communities with the potential to go further with their learning and life.

We believe education plays a pivotal role in developing our students as individuals, alongside the vital input from families and other professionals whom we enjoy working closely with. Our values are embedded in every aspect of the school day. They create opportunities for each student to value themselves and each other; shape our positive interactions with our pupils; underpin inspiring teaching and learning in the classroom; and encourage us to seek opportunities for our students to play meaningful roles in their communities. Our values are the compass that guides our school as we advocate a non-label-led approach to teaching children with special educational needs.

I am proud that our values genuinely underpin every aspect of our work.  It is always a pleasure to show visitors around the school, share our pupils’ achievements and discuss our beliefs and approaches to learning.

Whether you are a current or prospective parent or a professional interested in understanding more about how we work, please get in touch to arrange a visit. I look forward to meeting students, parents, carers and visitors, with the chance to show you around our happy and unique school where you will see us all smiling, sharing and succeeding in everything we do.

Bardwell School is part of The Gallery Trust, a community of special schools with the commitment to improve outcomes for Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across Oxfordshire.
